Abstract

В статье анализируются базовые прагматические функции, выполняемые английскими фразеологическими единицами с компонентом «собака». Данные единицы рассматриваются как часть древнейшей природной зооморфной метафоры, описывающей локус повседневности человека.

The article analyzes the basic pragmatic functions performed by the English phraseological units with a component of “dog”. These units are considered as a part of the oldest natural zoomorphic metaphors describing the locus of the daily life of the man.
