Abstract

The article discusses the nature of the economic crisis of 2008 and civilizational risks related to it. With regards to the Russian school of civilizational cycles, the author discusses the issue of values in contemporary geopolitical explosive economy as an issue of choice between noospherism and rational maximization. The article argues for the broader economic approach to the Schumpeter’s innovations as ideological innovations, which could preserve the value of human life as the ultimate value. This priority should help overcome geopolitical and energy-related risks of the society, itself transitioning from the stage of simplified globalization to the new stage of ascendancy burdened with conflicts
