Abstract

Spatial perception of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) by means of visocontrastometry method has been studied. It has been determined that MS is characterized by decreasing contrast sensation of visual analyzer within the entire range of spatial frequency, a maximum decrease being in scope of high and medium frequency. Impairment in spatial perception is already noted in early stages of MS in the absence of neurological and ophthalmologic symptomatology, thus allowing to use visocontrastometry as one of diagnostic criteria.
