Abstract

Using of methods of electronic microscopy and radio spectroscopy it is shown that during the etching of capillary-porous materials nonequilibrium low temperature plasma of the lowered pressure happen the homogenization of the fibresurface as a result of a dispersion (breaking up) and subsequent rearrangement of the not enough packed fragments, and thereofore an increase and redistribution of effective free volume in boundary of a cuticle and layers adjoining to it cortex occurs. Further tightening of the treatment regime initiates the formation of the cuticle on the loose surface of the molecular networks of the different nature, preventing penetration of fluids.
