The article presents a methodology of the analysis of structural deformation of the Ukrainian population. It is reviewed structural age-related changes of the population of Ukraine as an example of graph deformation of the pyramid in 1989, 2001 and 2011 years. It is found that a considerable scales of structural deformations: negative deviation in the age pyramids are connected with significant losses of population and relevant demographic waves. Developed and tested methods of the quantitative analysis of gender and age pyramids. It is analyzed the reasons for the negative and positive deformations in Ukraine.
