Abstract

Original pharmacologically active semisynthetic heparinoids on the basis of arabinogalactan natural polysaccharide of the Siberian larch were developed in Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry named after A.E. Favorsky SB RAS. We obtained both ultradispersed metal-bearing systems (e.g. nanoclusters of zero-valence sulfated arabinogalactan-silver nanocomposite composed of nanoclusters of zero-valence metal silver particles of 10-15 nm stabilized by sulfated arabinogalactan) and nanostructured sulfated arabinogalactan derivatives in the form of metal salts (ones of potassium, silver, zinc, etc.). Anticoagulant and hypolipidemic activities of sulfated arabinogalactan potassium salt as well as antimicrobial and antiaggregatory activities of the sulfated arabinogalactan-silver nanocomposite and ones of silver salt of sulfated arabinogalactan have been studied. The drug formulations of the compounds studied have been developed to expand the assortment of Russian hypolipidemic, antithrombotic, antimicrobial and wound healing drugs.
