Abstract

The article is devoted to consideration of a place and significance of the category "Compatriots" in foreign policy of countries across the world at the present time. The paper provides the reader with the short historical review of immigration policy in several countries which either have made the idea of re-emigration a kernel of their foreign policy, or use it anyhow as the tool of realization of governmental foreign policy.
