Abstract

The purpose of the article is the disclosure of the scientific contribution of the writer and publicist second half of the nineteenth century Inal Kanukov in the development of the ethnographic osetinovedeniye reveals. Defined are the main thematic areas in the ethnographical writings I. Kanukova: customs associated with the birth and upbringing of children, wedding and funeral rites, the payment at the conclusion of marriage (bride price), the rite of reconciliation of the blood-feud enemies, the people´s choreography and traditional costume of the mountaineers of the Northern Caucasus. The author found that I. Kanukov as sources often used materials of oral national creativity of Ossetians: a proverb, Proverbs, songs, Proverbs, legends. The dignity of the ethnographic works I. Kanukova the author sees not only in the detailed fixation of the phenomena of family and social life of Ossetians, but also in attempts to influence public opinion in respect of the outdated, the devastating for the people of customs.

Целью статьи является раскрытие научного вклада писателя и публициста второй половины ХIХ века Инала Канукова в развитие этнографического осетиноведения. Определены основные тематические сферы в этнографических трудах И. Канукова: обычаи, связанные с рождением и воспитанием детей, свадебная и похоронная обрядность, платеж при заключении брака (калым), обряд примирения кровников, народная хореография и традиционный костюм горцев Северного Кавказа. Автором установлено, что И. Кануков в качестве источников часто использовал материалы устного народного творчества осетин: поговорки, пословицы, песни, притчи, легенды. Достоинство этнографических трудов И. Канукова автор видит не только в подробной фиксации явлений семейного и общественного быта осетин, но и в попытках воздействовать на общественное мнение в отношении устаревших, разорительных для народа обычаев.
