The concentration of triacylglycerides, total cholesterol, cholesterol of high density lipoproteins, low density lipoproteins, and VLDL were determined using the acoustic analyzer of bio-media BIOM-01M for the characterization of lipid metabolism in the blood of pigs. Study of the intensity of the processes of lipid peroxidation was carried out by evaluating the content of malonic dialdehyde in liver homogenates in piglets. The research was carried out on piglets of large white breed of the stud farm of Ulyanovsk region. Three groups of animals were formed (5 animals each): the 1 (control) received basic household diet; group 2 (experienced) in addition to basic diet received the drug в-carotene «Betatsinol»; the 3 (experienced) in addition to basic diet received the drug в-carotene «Betaviton». As a result of research in the serum of piglets of experimental groups, compared with those from control, significant increase in the level of triacylglycerides was found, this best reflects the energy security of their body In the liver homogenates of piglets of 2 and 3 experimental groups, the decrease in the intensity of processes of lipid peroxidation was detected, which suggests that the drugs are effective antioxidants. The inclusion of additives of beta-carotene in addition to basic diet contributes to the correction of the overall oxidative stress and has a beneficial impact on lipid metabolism of young animals.
