
This article deals with the forms and methods of public participation in solving environmentally significant problems in accordance with the USA legislation; reveals the particularities of public environmental monitoring which is implemented at the stages of preparing, taking and fulfilling the decisions on arms elimination, applied in the USA; gives an idea of the leading public environmental associations in the USA; defines the legal status of Rehabilitation Advisory Councils, Public Advisory Commissions and Committees of Public Advisers as supervisory public bodies set up on the basis of nuclear and chemical weapons destruction facilities.
Рассматриваются формы и методы общественного участия в решении экологически значимых проблем в соответствии с американским законодательством; раскрываются особенности общественного экологического контроля, осуществляемого на стадиях подготовки, принятия и реализации решений, связанных с уничтожением вооружений, применяемых в США; дается характеристика ведущих общественных экологических объединений США.
