The article contains a study on the phenomenon of Anglo-American interjections borrowing in Russian language on the example of exclamation wow. An attempt to detect the causes and consequences of this borrowing is based on a contrastive analysis of an American exclamation wow and Russian interjections with the similar meaning. The analysis extends the conclusions of the important role which wow plays in the process of axiological changes and formation of “correct” market instincts in Russian language consciousness.
