Abstract

The paper is devoted to the results of studying triboluminescent properties of a homologous series of complex compounds of Eu(III) and Tb(III) promising in the development of new generation optical sensors for monitoring the value and location of microcracks in critical objects (aircrafts, motor vehicles, bridges, etc.). The electron and structural aspects of the triboluminescence mechanism have been discussed.
