Abstract

The article presents data from a study to assess the individual 4-year risk of cardiovascular complications in patients with uncontrolled arterial hypertension (blood pressure > 140/90 mmHg)and type 2 diabetes mellitus using the model of the ADVANCE study in Ukraine (STATUS program). It is shown that almost half of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 and uncontrolled arterial hypertension have a very high 4-year risk of cardiovascular complications, ≥ 8 %, which is determined not only by high blood pressure, but also the presence of comorbid conditions.
