Abstract

The article contains estimates of carcinogenic risks from inhalation of harmful chemical substances and radionuclides to the contaminated area of the Chelyabinsk region. For the calculation of risk radiation and chemical monitoring data were used. Among the considered communities the residents of Novogorny settlement are most at risk of inhalation of radionuclides and harmful chemical substances. For the population under study benzene and formaldehyde make the highest contribution to the total carcinogenic chemical risk from inhalation. The presented results indicate the need for additional environmental measures in the Chelyabinsk region.
