The article analyses a number of problems related to the integration of immigrants into the Western countries. The author notes that the increase in the number of foreigners and the decrease in the population of title nations pose a potential threat of losing their national identity. Special attention is paid to historical and moderns aspects of the ethno-demographic challenge in the Federal Republic of Germany.

В статье анализируется комплекс проблем, связанных с интеграцией иммигрантов в странах Запада. Автор отмечает, что увеличение числа иностранцев при сокращении численности титульных наций в этих странах несет в себе потенциальную угрозу утраты ими своей национальной идентичности. Особое внимание обращается на исторические и современные аспекты этнодемографического вызова в Федеративной Республике Германии.
