The article considers the key issues of the development of the concept of economic man. Draws attention to the prerequisites for the formation of the basic approaches to homo economicus in the classical economic school, which originated in the eighteenth century. The author examines the main approaches to the definition of economic man in all their diversity and inconsistency, developed in XVIII-XIX centuries. Enter the periodization of the Genesis of the model of homo economicus, describes the background and key features of each stage. The author pays special attention to the influence of philosophy on the formation of the first concepts of economic man. The author also notes that, despite the many similar provisions in the scientific literature of the period under consideration does not have a shared understanding human behavior in the economic environment and its motivation, which resulted in inconsistent approaches and active criticism of the classical model, which remained methodological basis of most economic research.

В статье рассмотрены ключевые проблемы развития концепции экономического человека. Обращается внимание на предпосылки формирования базовых подходов к homoeconomicus в классической экономической школе, зародившиеся в XVIII веке. Автором рассматриваются основные подходы к определению экономического человека во всем их многообразии и противоречивости, разработанные в XVIII-XIX веках. Вводится периодизация генезиса модели homoeconomicus, раскрываются предпосылки и ключевые особенности каждого этапа. Автор особое внимание уделяет влиянию философии на становление первых концептов экономического человека. Автором также отмечает, что, несмотря на множество схожих положений, в научной литературе рассматриваемого периода не сложилось единого понимания поведения человека в экономической среде и его мотивации, что проявилось в противоречивости подходов и активной критике классической модели, которая при этом оставалась методологической базой большинства экономических исследований.
