Abstract

The article discusses the reasons for the growing interest to inequality research, and particularly, for the book “Capital in the Twenty-First Century”. The author’s attention focuses on the technological and economic parameters of the economic reality as a key factor in formation and expansion of the related theoretical research. Special attention is given to the growth of the topic’s importance in relation to scientific and technological revolutions. The article stresses the need of further research in the area of economic theory
