Abstract

The examination of the 60 patients suffering from chronic nonspecific ulcerative colitis was conducted to evaluate the clinical condition of their periodontal tissues. These patients were divided into 3 groups according to the basic disease treatment peculiarities. Carried out examinations showed that apparently the presence of the H. pylori in oral cavity is not the direct reason causing periodontal pathology in case when the latter is associated with the gastroenterological diseases. However, the results of research testify to influence of this microorganism (periodontal pathogen) on the severity of periodontal pathologies. Consequently, the involvement of the specific antihelicobacteric means in complex periodontal therapy may become an effective method of treatment of the patients with chronic ulcerative nonspecific colitis.
