Abstract

The paper makes a contrastive analysis of Russian and Swedish works in the period of Northern War. They all include debate on the topic of punishment for the vices of your nation and defeated enemy. The author of the article reveals Biblical parallels which were important for the parties in the war, explores and explains the characteristic differences in Russian and Swedish literatures of early XVIII century.
