Abstract

Twelve cultures of microorganisms have been isolated from bacteriological samples taken in the skimming ponds in Volgograd region. Eight of them were qualified as hydrocarbon-oxidizing strains. The degree of oil-slime consuming by the qualified strains was tested according to their environmental placement. Epidemiological safety of the isolated microorganisms was proved in biological testing with laboratory animals (mice) and some biochemical analysis. The strains most active in hydrocarbonoxidation were identified as relating to Rhodococcus genera.
