Abstract

The levels of antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides in patients with spondylarthropathies (psoriatic arthritis and reactive arthritis) were evaluated. The positive value of antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides (more than 5 U/ml) was detected in 4,8% of the patients with psoriatic arthritis and in 3,1% of the patients with reactive arthritis. Considering the results obtained, we conclude that the detection of antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides levels in patients with inflammatory joints diseases is an additional criterion for differentiation between rheumatoid arthritis and spondylarthropathies. Clinical obervation of the patients with spondylarthropathies and positive value of antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides is necessary for timely diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis in these patients.
