This article discusses the nature, comprehensiveness and uniqueness of rhythm as an artistic category, characterized by patterns of its manifestations in the music, as well as in other arts, focused on defining the nature of psycho-physiological rhythm that allows correlating the concepts of rhythm and rhythm of body-movement. Authors outline a number of positions, determine the impact of rhythm on the state of the functional systems of the body, the result of which appear similar to the rhythmic structure of the body-motor actions. Formed in the mind, the feeling of harmonious combination of these actions to the original music tempo, as well as the ability to appropriate adjustment of motor actions according to the changes of music are of obvious value for rhythmic gymnastics.

В статье рассматривается сущность, всеохватность и уникальность ритма как художественной категории и биомеханики, сравниваются особенности его проявления в музыке, а также в других видах искусств. Уделяется внимание психофизиологической природе ритма как условия гармонизации музыкального ритма и ритма телесно-двигательного. Излагается ряд позиций, определяющих влияние музыкального ритма на состояние функциональных систем организма. Рассматриваются особенности формирования в сознании чувства гармоничного сочетания телесно-двигательных действий с заданным музыкальным ритмом, а также способности целесообразной корректировки двигательных действий согласно изменениям музыки в условиях выполнения упражнений ритмической гимнастики.
