This article addresses the fundamental principles of the philosophical project launched by one of the most influential university philosophers of the middle XIX century Adolf Trendelenburg. The main conclusion is based on the link between the formation of philosophy as a "theory of knowledge" and the transformation of the traditional modes of logic.
