Abstract

The article deals the media war concept by the famous scientist in the field of communicology and public relations Georgiy Georgiyevich Pocheptsov in the view of the ethnogenesis theory by the historian and ethnologist Lev Nikolayevich Gumilev. The actuality of the problem of the information impact on countries and people when the importance of the information and communication processes for human civilization is increased is substantiated. The constructive and destructive potential of the information component, the way to implement information aggression representing as communicative technology is analyzed. G.G. Pocheptsov’s and L.N. Gumilev’s common views on the tools, objects, purpose and consequences of the information war are indicated. G.G. Pocheptsov’s media war concept through the prism of L.N. Gumilev’s ethnogenesis theory is considered for the first time. Such formulation of the problem can reveal the phenomenon of information war in the ethnosphere field and use ethnogenesis theory as a tool for applied technologies in order to counteract the informational expansion.
