Abstract

The first successes of the Soviet Union in reconstruction of its productive forces, on the one hand, and the victory of the Anatolian national liberation movement and declaration of the Turkish Republic (October 29, 1923), on the other hand, created the basis for subsequent development of the Soviet-Turkish relations, which principles were laid during the heroic age of struggle against the internal opposition and the foreign oppressors. Neighbourly relations between Turkey and the Soviet Union assumed a complex character. Besides diplomatic and trade-economic spheres, the cultural and scientific relations improved. The article covers this aspect of the Soviet-Turkish relations.
