Abstract

The problem of "Gould and the genre" one of the most interesting, not only in connection with the work of Canadian musician, but also in connection with the performance culture of the conceptual sense as a whole. Within the framework of interpretive rhetoric of pianist the genre understood as what is necessary to "re-open". As a result, the genre belonging of the composition here is put into question, because Gould understands the genre as an "worldview category", "an occasion for reflection," in fact, we can say about the whole philosophy Gould's genre. As part of this work is an attempt to identify the specificity of the latter, as well as to understand the philosophical and aesthetic nature of his genre searchings.
