Abstract

In this article the authors have been analyzed literature data regarding the factors influencing postnatal development of a child. There are endogenous and exogenous factors, which impact the body mass, growth of a child and other parameters after birth. The endogenous factors depend on the endocrine organs influence on growth and body mass. The genotype determines the hormone level participating in growth process and tissue sensitivity. There are several growth hormones: growth hormone (STH), thyroid hormones and insulin. STH stimulates chondrogenesis, thyroid hormones impact osteogenesis. Insulin-like growth factors 1, 2, 3 realize the effects STH. The role of STH is not so important for 2–3year old child, but necessary in the period from 3 to 11 years. Exogenous factors are conditions, under which a child is growing. It is First of all meal (plastic and energetic material). Unsatisfactory quality and quantity nutrition contribute to slow gain of body mass and then growth.
