Abstract

The article presents a comparative stylistic analysis of the two poems that are both entitled “Daffodils”. One of them is written by W. Wordsworth, an English Romantic poet of the beginning of the 19th century. The author of the other poem is T. Hughes, a well-known British poet of the second half of the 20th century. Nearly two hundred years separate these two poetical works, they have got different plots and themes but both contain stylistic metaphors. The aim of the analysis is to reveal and to consider the stylistic metaphors from the cultural aspect.
