Abstract

The aim of our work is to study of the efficacy of chitosan-based gels, containing biologically active substances (BAS) from marine hydrobionts (sulfated polysaccharides from brown algae, hydrolyzate from bivalves and peptides from squid nerve tissue) compared with ointment levomekol in mouse model of thermal burn. The results of clinical, cytological and morphological methods with the expectation of the wound healing percent were used as the criteria of gel’s efficacy. We revealed the positive effect of gels with BAS, which has shown itself by increasing the percentage of wound healing, decreasing swelling of the skin and accelerating the development of regenerative processes. The gel with peptides from squid nerve tissue showed the greatest wound healing effect, which reached to 10 days 90.7±5.6%, actually leads to complete healing of the wound.
