Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the influence of Romanian factor to the political elites of Moldova and Transdniestria. The Moldavian political elite was initially oriented to Romania, and the influence of this state was very important for the beginning of the conflict between Moldova and Transdniestria. The present politics of Romania is also of expansionist character, what is explained by the desire of a significant segment of Romanian political class to the revision of the borders created after the Second World war. The growth of Romanian active involvement isn’t seen with any optimism as by Transdniestrian side, same as by Ukrainian and Russian political elites that traditionally consider Romania as a regional competitor. Romania does not restrict the limits of its influence over the Moldovan territory, but also tries to spread it on the nearby territories.
