Abstract

The author bases the report on the list of journals that are veterans of Russian scientific periodicals and raises the question of the need to preserve the continuity of the historical and cultural heritage of national science. These important issues are discussed in the journals mentioned. Scientometrical approaches allow to extend the concept of a scientific school and facilitate the identification of scientific schools. In order to popularize the oldest Russian scientific journals that have preserved their original names and their history in scientific communication and continuity of generations of scientific traditions, the author proposes to create a special section in the journal “Scholarly Communication Review”.
