Abstract

The article deals with the problem of the timber processing industry in Russia, which is faced with the problems of small and medium-sized busi-nesses, seasonal work and irrational use of resources. Threats to forests include deforestation, fires, and climate change. The history of forestry in Kuzbass demonstrates the importance of sustainable forest management to ensure the eco-nomic and environmental security of the region. Important tasks are to maintain a balance between economic interests and environmental protection, as well as to improve forest management and the introduction of new technologies.
