Abstract

The Central Chernozem region belongs to the sparsely forested regions of Russia and is represented only by protective forests. The forest cover of the subjects varies from 8.2 to 10.6 %. A model for the multi-purpose use of forests in the Central Chernozem region as well as levels criteria and an algorithm for organizing monitoring are proposed.
