Хомутовой по теоретической грамматике английского языка с позиций современной парадигмы изучения языка и лингводидактики. Рассматривается структура и содержание учебника, его новизна, теоретическая и практическая ценность. Особое внимание уделяется авторской теории в ее приложении к формированию профессиональной коммуникативной компетенции студентов. The review gives an evaluation of the textbook in the theory of English grammar by T.N. Khomutova along the lines of modern linguistic and linguodidactic paradigms. The textbook content, structure and pragmatics, as well as its novelty, theoretical and practical value are discussed with a special focus on the relevance of the original author’s theory to formation of students’ professional competence.
