Рассматриваются такие характеристики научно-популярного журнала предметной сферы «Путешествие», как характер аудитории, предмет издания, его целевое назначение и способ изложения. Доказывается, что научно-популярный журнал представляет собой поликодовый текст, в котором сочетаются вербальные и невербальные способы кодирования информации с целью ее визуализации. Анализируется содержательная составляющая научно-популярного журнала. Усиление внимания современной лингвистики к проблемам речевого воздействия и взаимодействия коммуникантов, к изучению языка в тесной связи с практической деятельностью человека делает данную статью актуальной. The article investigates the main parameters of the popular science magazine as a part of the open public media communicative space. Such characteristics of the popular scientific magazine of the subject matter “Travel”, as the audience’s nature, the publication subject, the purpose and the narrative technique of the magazine are considered. It has been proved that a popular science magazine is a multimodal text, which combines verbal and non-verbal ways of encoding information for the purpose of its visualization. The content of the popular science magazine has been analyzed. The fact that modern linguistics strengthens its attention on the problems of linguistic manipulation and communicants’ interaction, on the study of language in close connection with the human practical activities, makes this article particularly vital.
