Abstract

The results of yttrium oxyhydrates sorption properties investigation are represented, which were obtained at various surfactant concentrations, various pH values, with and without thermal treatment. Surfactant concentration corresponds to various types of micelle formation. It has been found that sorptive capacity of yttrium ions increases steadily with the rise of surfactant amount in a mother solution and rise of synthesis pH. Thermal treatment of gels at 430 °C significantly heightens sorption properties of yttrium oxyhydrate, though in the samples obtained with the use of a surfactant, it results in the effect of decreasing yttrium ions sorptive capacity with the rise of sorbate concentration.
