Abstract

E-mail: spiridonovaav@susu.ru. Alena Vyacheslavovna Spiridonova – Candidate of Sciences (Law), Associate Professor of Business, Competition and Ecological Law Department, South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk, Russian Federation. E-mail: spiridonovaav@susu.ru. The article deals with general issues of environmental management based on the appli-cation of international and national standards. Attention is paid to the advantages associated with implementation of environmental management systems at the enterprise. The necessity of wider implementation of environmental management systems in organizations belonging to the category of small and medium-sized businesses is substantiated. Some measures to stimulate the introduction of environmental management systems used in foreign countries are noted. Based on the analysis of Russian legislation, the problem of insufficient state support of small and medium-sized businesses in implementation of environmental man-agement systems by them was identified and specific proposals were made to solve it. (Funding: The research was funded by RFBR and Chelya-binsk Region, project number 20-411-740012).
