In the article the role of macroprudential policy in ensuring financial stability was considered. The historical background of the emergence of macroprudential policy and methodological framework for its implementation were reserched. The comparative analysis of macroprudential and mikroprudential policy was performed. The main instruments of macroprudential policy and institutional support were considered.
