Abstract

The article aims to study the content and audience characteristics of social communications as the basic concepts of information culture functioning. The scale of the informatization of society is analyzed, where the development of the «Internet» network caused a qualitatively new nature of the production and distribution of information and the need to develop new approaches to the individual management of information flows. Fundamental technological changes based on the use of computer technology are characterized, which gave a powerful impetus to the development and revision of the conceptual base, which became the object of multi-faceted scientific investigations of information and communication activities.
