Abstract

El propósito de este informe es establecer un criterio técnico sobre la aplicabilidad de una estructura de pavimento con superficie de ruedo asfáltica o de losas de concreto, bajo las condiciones climáticas y de carga particulares, para el acceso de camiones de transporte de carga al puerto de Caldera. Actualmente el pavimento se halla construido hasta el nivel de base estabilizada, de manera que antes de colocar la carpeta asfáltica se ha definido analizar las siguientes situaciones particulares: idoneidad de una estructura de pavimento, diseño alternativo de una losa de concreto hidráulico y establecimiento de criterios de comparación de desempeño a largo plazo.

The purpose of this report is to establish a technical criterion on the applicability of a pavement structure with asphalt surface or concrete slabs, under the particular climatic and loading conditions, for the access of cargo transport trucks to the port of Caldera. Currently the pavement is built up to the level of stabilized base, so before placing the asphalt folder has been defined analyze the following particular situations: suitability of a pavement structure, alternative design of a hydraulic concrete slab and establishment of criteria of long-term performance comparison.
