"La presentación de una soberana. Las entradas de la emperatriz Isabel de Portugal (1503-1539)"

Abstract

La itinerancia de la Corte se utilizó para presentar a los súbditos a la esposa de Carlos V, Isabel de Portugal, mediante el ceremonial de la entrada real en la ciudad. Además de las que efectuó conjuntamente la pareja imperial, en otras ocasiones la soberana fue recibida en solitario, bien para anunciar la descendencia y la continuidad de la dinastía, bien para que fuera reconocida como Gobernadora o regente en ausencia de su esposo. Los festejos que celebraron las ciudades con ese motivo se acompañaron de arquitecturas y decoraciones efímeras. Aunque compartieran unos protocolos similares, cada ciudad presentó acentos particulares.
