Productive properties of the Black Sea agar-containing alga Laurencia papillosa (Forsk.) Grev. (Rhodophyta) have been investigated in enrichment culture during 30 days. It was shown that under temperature 15???? and light intensity 40 W/m2 PAR alga had higher specific growth rate. Values of specific growth rate and maximal specific growth rate made up 0.085 and 0.165 day????? respectively. Two morphological forms of laurencia were tested as concern their reaction on the changes of light intensity and temperature to find correlation between morphostructure of the thallus and its productive characteristics under different conditions of cultivation. The experiment has demonstrated that morphostructure of thalli in the population may determine productive properties of laurencia under nearly optimal conditions.
