As a result of the studies of Kalanchoe obtusa Engl. ontomorphogenesis under conditions of glasshouses of the Donetsk Botanical Gardens, Nat. Acad. Sci. of Ukraine, 4 periods of development and 4 age states of the developing individuals are determined, their morphologic peculiarities on every stage of the development are described. Based on the long-term phenologic observations, regularities of annual rhythm of plant development and adaptive features of the species representatives under the regional conditions are revealed. The data as for the integral evaluation of the species allow to use it in the process of selection, while revealed morphologic features of the plants at the early stages of development give an opportunity to select hybrids in the first generation.
