Trigo: manejo de plagas

Abstract

Cuando hablamos de plaga agrícola nos referimos a una población de animales fitófagos, es decir que se alimentan de plantas, la cual produce una merma en el rendimiento del cultivo, reduce su valor comercial o incrementa los costos de producción. Básicamente es un criterio económico. En los cultivos invernales la probabilidad de que un insecto se convierta en plaga es menor, ya que poseen una dinámica diferente a las de los cultivos de estivales. Por lo tanto, ocasionalmente se utilizan insecticidas (Ribeiro et al., 2014). Al trigo lo afectan diversos fitófagos, la intensidad del ataque va a depender del estadio de la plaga, su densidad poblacional y el estado de desarrollo del cultivo. Las plagas que provocan daños económicos importantes, se describirán en orden de aparición.
