Citizen Science

Abstract

Unter Citizen Science wird Wissenschaft von Personen gefasst, die im Hinblick auf das beforschte Thema nicht institutionell gebunden sind, wobei die Praxen von Citizen Science vielfältig sind. Die Rolle von Citizen Science für Hochschulen wird anhand einer wissenschaftlichen, einer individuellen sowie einer sozio-politischen Dimension beschrieben und das Potenzial als Forschungsmethode sowie -modus vor dem Hintergrund aktueller Forschung über Citizen Science diskutiert. Mit den vielfältigen Praxen korrespondierend ist Citizen Science an Hochschulen bisher weniger in einer Gesamtstrategie, sondern vielmehr als Forschungsmethode und Format der Wissenschaftskommunikation realisiert.
