Abstract

SUMMARY The Study group consist of 70 patients who were admitted to the departments of internal medicine and surgery of the medical Fa culty of Istanbul University. The aim is to mesure the knowledge level of patients about an tibiotics and usage of them. According to the results, the study group consist of 43 women (% 61.4) and 27 men (% 38.6). 34 patients were graduated from primary school. 27 persons (% 38.6) weren't know about what an antibiotic was (Tablo 2). An education level and knowledge about antibiotics of pati ents are compared, a meaningful difference is found (p^0.05) (Table 4). It is found that 49 persons (% 70.0) don't know anything about allergies of antibiotics and 31 persons (% 44.3) don't know anything about must be done before begining antibiotics therapy. 41 patients (% 58.6) didn't answer about the culture (Table 5). An education le vel of patient and their knowledge about culture were compared, any meaningful difference was not found (p>0.05), (Table 6). The patients are'nt use an antibiotic drup without consultation to doctor (Table 14). Nearly, 40 patients (% 57.1) weren't aware of publications about health. An education level of patient and their knowledge about health compared, a meaningful difference is found (p<0.05), (Table 15). 50 patients (% 71.4) want to be educated about using antibiotics.

ÖZET Bu çalışma, İstanbul Üniversitesi, İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi İç Hastalıkları ve Cerrahi Hastalıkları Anabilin Dallarında yatan 70 has tanın antibiotik ve antibiotik kullanımı konusunda bilgi düzeylerini saptamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Sonuçlarımıza göre, çalışma grubu 43 kadın (% 61.4) ve 27 er kek (% 38.6) denekten oluşmaktadır. 34 denek (% 48.6) ilkokul mezunu dur. 27 denek (% 38.6) antibiotik grubu ilacın ne olduğunu bilmemek tedir (Tablo 2). Deneklerin eğitim durumu ile antibiotik grubu ilacın tanımlanması arasında yapılan karşılaştırmada anlamlı fark bulunmuş tur (p<0.05), (Tablo 4). 49 hastanın (% 70.0) antibiotiklerin aller- jileri hakkında, 31 hastanın (% 44.3) ise antibiotik tedavisine başla madan önce kişinin duyarlı olup olmadığını saptamak için neler yapıl ması gerektiğini bilmedikleri belirlenmiştir. 41 hasta (% 58.6) kül tür hakkındaki soruya cevap vermemiş ve eğitim durumu ile kültür hak kındaki bilgileri karşılaştırıldığında anlamlı bir fark bulunamamış tır (p> 0.05), (Tablo 6). Hastalar hekime danışmadan antibiotik gru bu ilaç kullanmamaktadır (Tablo 13). 40 hasta (% 57.1) çoğunlukla sağlıkla ilgili yayınları takip etmemekte ve bu durum eğitim düzeyi ile karşılaştırıldığında anlamlı fark saptanmaktadır(p </0.05), (Tablo 15). 50 patients (% 71.4) antibiotiklerin kullanımı konusunda eğitim almak istemektedir.
