Bu araştırmanın amacı İstanbul ili Esenler ilçesinde görev yapmakta olan ilkokul müdürlerinin liderlik stillerini 1991 yılında Bolman ve Deal tarafından geliştirilen Liderlik Çerçeveleri Kuramı'na göre ne düzeyde gösterdiklerini öğretmen ve müdürlerin görüşlerine dayanarak ölçmektir. Araştırma için kullanılan veri toplama aracı 1991 yılında Bolman ve Deal tarafından geliştirilmiş ve Mahçe Dereli tarafından Türkçe' ye uyarlanarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırma anketi üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde anketi dolduran bireye ait bilgiler, ikinci bölümde, ilkokul müdürlerinin liderlik biçimlerini ölçmeyi amaçlayan 38 soru ve son bölümde müdürlerin liderlik ve yöneticilik özelliklerini belirlemeye yönelik ifadeler yer almaktadır. Araştırma İstanbul ili Esenler ilçesinde buluna 19 ilkokulda yapılmış ve ilkokul müdürleri ile öğretmenler çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma için 600 öğretmen ve 19 ilkokul müdürüne anket teslim edilmiştir. Müdürlerin tamamı anketleri doldurmuş, öğretmenlerin 372'si bu anketleri doldurarak teslim etmiştir. Öğretmen anketlerinin 104 tanesi yanlış veya eksik doldurulduğu için çalışmaya dahil edilmemiştir. Analizler bilgisayarda SPSS for 20.00 istatistik paket programında yapılmıştır. Müdürlerin ve öğretmenlerin anketleri ayrı ayrı değerlendirilmiş, müdürlerin kendileri hakkındaki düşünceleri ve öğretmenlerin müdürler hakkındaki düşünceler ayrı ayrı incelenmiştir. Müdürlerin kendi liderlik stilleri hakkındaki düşünceleri ve öğretmenlerin müdürlerin liderlik stilleri hakkındaki düşünceleri, gruplara iki ayrı form uygulandığından dolayı ayrı ayrı hesaplanmış ve bunun sonucunda aritmetik ortalamaların karşılaştırılmasıyla iki grubun düşünceleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmada öğretmenler müdürlerin sırasıyla İnsan Kaynakları Liderliği', Yapısalcı Liderlik', Politik Liderlik' ve Sembolik Liderlik' uyguladığını düşünürken müdürler de kendilerinin İnsan Kaynakları Liderliği', Yapısal Liderlik', Politik Liderlik' ve Sembolik Liderlik' uyguladıklarını düşünmektedirler. Yani öğretmenlerin ve müdürlerin düşünceleri aynıdır. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin ve müdürlerin cinsiyetleri ve mesleki kıdemlerine göre müdürlerin uyguladığı liderlik stilleri farklılık göstermektedir.

The objective of this study is to measure at what level the primary school principals working in Esenler, Istanbul show their leadership tendencies on the basis of the opinions of teachers and principals according to Leadership Frames Theory developed by Bolman and Deal in 1991. The data collection tool used for this study was developed by Bolman and Deal in 1991 and translated into Turkish and used by Mahçe Dereli. The study questionnaire consists of three parts. The first part consists of some personal information of those who answered the questionnaire, the second part consists of 38 questions aiming at measuring the leadership types of primary school principals, and the last part consists of some explanations in order to identify the leadership and management qualities of principals. The study was carried out in 19 primary schools in Esenler, İstanbul; primary school principals and teachers were included in it. For the study, surveys were given to 600 teachers and 19 primary school principals. All the principles and 372 of the teachers filled in and delivered the surveys. 104 teacher surveys were excluded from the study as they were filled in either incompletely or faultily. The analyses were performed in computer with SPSS for 20.00 statistics packet program. The questionnaires of the principles and the teachers were evaluated separately. The thoughts of the principals on themselves and the thoughts of the teachers on the principals were also evaluated separately. In this way; it became possible to compare the thoughts of the principals and the teachers. It was found out in the study that the teachers think the principles implemented Human Resource Leadership, Structuralist Leadership, Political Leadership and Symbolic Leadership respectively; the principals also think that they implemented the same types of leadership. That means the teachers and the principals have the same opinions. It was also found out that the type of leadership that the principals implemented vary according to the gender of the teachers and principals and according to their professional seniority.
