Vigorelli A. A New Phenomenological Beginning: a Dialogue between Enzo Paci and Husserl

Abstract

Перевод выполнен по изданию | The translation is made according to the edition: Vigorelli, A.A. “New Phenomenological Beginning: A Dialogue Between Enzo Paci And Husserl”, Phenomenology in Italy, 2020, Vol. 106, pp. 57–70. This work is a translation from English of an article by Amedeo Vigorelli published in the collected papers «Phenomenology in Italy» from the series «Contributions to Phenomenology». This article’ object is to consider mainly from a theoretical point of view the “return to Husserl”, carried out by Enzo Paci in the context of Italian philosophy of the second half of the 20th century, which was traditionally considered “stagnant”. As the main material, the article refers to the book by E. Paci “Time and Truth in Husserl’s Phenomenology” (“Tempo e verità nella fenomenologia di Husserl”, 1960). The methods of Paci’s new approach to phenomenology will be highlighted in connection: 1) with his attempts to draw a line of succession with Husserl’s early students, and 2) with a deep and original reading of Husserl’s texts (including unpublished ones). Based on the task, the most important will be the concepts of “phenomenological reduction”, “intersubjectivity” and “requirement”. Finally, we will see how Paci’s actualization of Husserl’s phenomenology is related to other important personalities, primarily Freud and Marx.
