The article talks about the origin and development of traditional architecture. Examples of residential buildings in different climatic zones and various natural conditions and very original in application are given. Cave houses, «vegetable houses», houses on the water, houses from snow and ice, etc. are considered. Traditional architecture has been tested by time and is a standard of convenience, strength and compliance with the taste preferences of a certain locality.
