Abstract

The present research is done within the framework of cognitive linguistics and dwells upon its most interesting and controversial aspects — an emotion-based cluster. The article aims to describe both implicit and explicit similarities and differences in conceptualizing the emotion of delight (the research is based upon the essays of J. B. Priestley and K. G. Paustovsky). The cluster analysis method (by V. Y. Apresyan) is applied when carrying out the study of above mentioned concepts. Guided by this method, the semantic fi elds of emotional concepts are presented, the conceptual framework of both concepts are structured, and a set of language means for representing various aspects of emotion is considered. Having provided a detailed description and compared the aspects, the authors of the article carry out a comparative analysis, taking into account both implicit and explicit peculiarities of the authors» artistic styles.
